June in Wine Country

June in wine country always feels alive. The vineyards at Michael Pozzan Winery are full of energy right now – lush, green, and constantly changing as we move deeper into the growing season.

Right now, canopy work is in full swing. Shoots are being positioned to ensure balanced sunlight and airflow, supporting healthy development as the vines move through flowering and into fruit set. Each decision made in the vineyard this time of year shapes the structure and character of the wines to come. There’s a sense of precision in the work, but also patience… trusting the rhythm of the season as summer takes hold.

As the vineyards grow, so does the energy on the estate. June is also one of the most welcoming times to visit wine country. Guests are spending more time outdoors and enjoying tastings as everything comes into full color and motion. Whether it’s a relaxed afternoon tasting or a planned stop during a Napa Valley visit, we always enjoy sharing this season at the tasting room with our guests.

And of course, summer at the table continues beyond the vineyard. This month’s featured recipe, Shrimp Scampi Diablo, brings that same seasonal energy into the kitchen. Bright, savory, and lightly spiced, it’s made with garlic, lemon, Chardonnay, and perfectly sautéed shrimp. We love pairing it with our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, which lifts the citrus and spice while adding freshness and balance to the richness of the dish. It’s an easy pairing that reflects the spirit of the season: relaxed, flavorful, and meant to be shared.

Whether you’re visiting us in Downtown Napa Valley or bringing a bit of wine country into your home kitchen, June is an invitation to slow down, connect, and enjoy what’s in front of you.

Cheers,
Michael Pozzan Winery
